Tomorrow's Teachers Fund
Become a Teacher
The School of Education and Human Development's Teacher Education program is consistently ranked as one of the best in the nation. We have formal teaching degrees that lead to teacher licensure in the state of Virginia, as well as alternative routes to teacher licensure through our offerings of individual courses, course series, certificates, and other professional learning modules. Current educators can also pursue coursework that leads to recertification points as well as add-on endorsements to their existing teaching licenses.
Learn MoreThe Impact
Receiving this award has been instrumental in allowing me to pursue this goal. It has enabled me to participate in a program that aligns perfectly with my career ambitions. This funding has removed significant financial barriers that would have otherwise prevented me from enrolling. With this support, I am able to focus wholeheartedly on becoming a well-prepared educator. I am profoundly grateful for this opportunity to continue my academic and professional journey, and I am eager to apply what I learn to inspire and support students throughout their educational paths.
Amy Zapata
Master of Teaching, Social Studies
This financial award is hugely significant to me. It represents the opportunity to pursue my passion for teaching without relegating myself to years of financial burden. Without this scholarship, making a career change from landscaping to education would have been nearly impossible, and attending UVA would have been out of reach. This scholarship has opened the door to a future where I can make a meaningful impact on the lives of young students, and for that, I am profoundly thankful.
Dane Lambert
Master of Teaching, Elementary Education
Receiving this award is instrumental in achieving both my academic and career goals. Financially, it alleviates the burdens associated with tuition and allows me to fully concentrate on my studies, practical teaching experiences, and professional development opportunities within the program. The recognition and support from this award shows my commitment to pursuing a career in education. It reinforces my determination to make a positive impact in the lives of young learners, equipping them with the skills and confidence they need to succeed academically and personally.
Abigail Reibsamen
Master of Teaching, Elementary Education
This financial award is a major contribution to the costs of becoming an excellent educator. I chose this program at UVA's School of Education because I believe it will help me achieve such excellence, and the aid I was awarded paves an easier path to my goals. In addition to the obvious, I come from a small town in the south of Puerto Rico, I now live thousands of miles away from my home and family, and am only just starting my life here in the States. Such an award proves to be indispensable support in this hectic (yet exciting) journey that I still feel I am only just starting.
Adriana Ayala Quiñones
Master of Teaching, English as a Second Language
This award is more than just financial support; it is a powerful affirmation of confidence in my potential and future. Your belief in me is a motivator to excel in my academic and professional endeavors.
Sam Diemer
Master of Teaching, Social Studies
After earning my Master of Teaching degree in Elementary Education, my goal is to teach in a Title I public school somewhere in Virginia and continue to hone my professional skills so that I can provide the best possible education for my students. As I grow in my role as an educator, I’d also like to expand upon my undergraduate studies and prior work experience by advocating for policy changes that benefit my students and their families. This award provides a foundation of support and expands the opportunities available to me as I launch my career in teaching!
