Sibylle Kranz

Sibylle Kranz is a registered dietitian and Fellow of The Obesity Society. Her research focuses on diet quality and dietary intake behavior and how diet/nutrition relates to health and learning outcomes, especially in children. She is the Director of the Diet and Nutrition (DAN) laboratory at UVA.

Kranz has served the professional community for almost two decades in many roles, such as chair of the Food and Nutrition section of the American Public Health Association, the Nutrition Epidemiology section of The Obesity Society, the Nutrition Education and Behavioral Sciences section of the American Society of Nutrition, and the School Nutrition Services dietary practice group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She was highly involved with the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), is a member of the research integrity subcommittee of the Commission on Research of the Academy for Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). She served as child nutrition expert on a committee of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) and has served on editorial boards for the Journal of the International Society for Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (IJBNPA) and Nutrients, where Kranz managed two special issues.
