Chelsea graduated from the University of Virginia with a PhD in Educational Psychology - Applied Developmental Science. Prior to graduate school, Chelsea taught high school mathematics and worked as a research assistant at RAND Corporation outside of Washington DC. During her graduate school career, she was a fellow of the Virginia Educational Science Training (VEST) program, working with her advisor, David Grissmer. Her research interests center around cognitive and self-regulatory development in the context of poverty and racial/ethnic minority status. She currently works with Catherine Bradshaw and colleagues on projects focused on cultural responsiveness in the context of positive behavioral support interventions.
