Biography
Carina Alvarez is a doctoral candidate working with Jason Downer. She is currently working at the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents as part of her third-year practicum experience. In her clinical work, Alvarez is interested in working with families of young children who experience emotional and behavioral difficulties. She enjoys Parent Management Training as well as connecting families with community support services. Her research focuses on Hispanic ELLs' classroom engagement, as well as social-emotional practices in elementary school settings.
