Xavier Elzie

Biography

Xavier Elzie studied psychology and child development as an undergraduate. During this time, he worked as a preschool teacher, working with infants and toddlers in early childcare settings. Post undergrad, Elzie attended San Diego State University, researching family risk and resilience factors associated with child trauma and victimization. 

As a current doctoral student working with Jason Downer, Elzie researches school and family contextual factors linked with children's social-emotional development. He is most interested in understanding the intersection between children's home and school environments for promoting students' well-being.
