Biography
Noor Alwani is a doctoral candidate in the clinical and school psychology program at. In her time at UVA, she has produced research exploring the session-by-session factors influencing the relationship development and influence on youth outcomes of school-based mentoring relationships. In addition, her current research focuses on equity efforts in mental health promotion for both in-school and out-of-school mental health supports. Alwani has also completed advanced clinical training in a number of settings, including a university counseling center, an outpatient multidisciplinary clinic, and public schools. In her current role, while preparing for her dissertation defense, Alwani also serves as a staff therapist at the UVA Hospital’s Family Stress Clinic, an integrated behavioral healthcare setting.
