Gerald D. Starsia

Gerald "Gerry" Starsia joined the school in 2016 with a joint appointment as an associate professor and executive director of the foundation. Previously, he served as the senior associate dean and chief operating officer at the Darden School of Business and as a member of its technology and operations management area. From 2001 to 2013, he served in various roles at UVA's McIntire School of Commerce, including as senior associate dean for administration, with responsibilities as chief operating officer and a member of the information technology area. He also has served as executive director of the McIntire School Foundation and as a member of the UVA School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Foundation.

Today, Starsia teaches graduate courses in leadership, strategy, and intercollegiate athletics administration. In 2013, he received a teaching award from the Seven Society noting "...his balance between teaching, research and administrative leadership..." and "excellence in the fields of commerce and business."
