Biography

Katie Waddell’s research focuses on supporting elementary teachers in improving their mathematics instruction. She is also interested in what educator preparation programs can do to help pre-service teachers improve learning outcomes for elementary mathematics students.

Previously, Waddell was a graduate research assistant and university instructor responsible for teaching elementary mathematics methods. Additionally, she spent 11 years as an elementary teacher and currently serves as a part-time elementary mathematics interventionist.

In her current role, Waddell works under the mentorship of Julie Cohen on a grant-funded research project focused on pre-service teacher education in elementary mathematics.
