Biography

Jessica Smith graduated with honors from the University of Alabama in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. As an undergraduate, Smith worked as a research assistant at the Center for Youth Development and Intervention (CYDI), under the mentorship of Susan White. Following graduation, she worked as a clinical research coordinator at Children’s National Hospital, Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders. Under the mentorship of Lauren Kenworthy, Smith provided research support for multiple federally funded grants, including the dissemination and implementation of Unstuck and On Target! in 200+ elementary schools. Smith entered the clinical and school psychology program in the fall of 2022 as an advisee of Micah Mazurek.

Smith’s research interests center around bridging the research-to-practice gap for individuals on the spectrum. She is passionate about the ways in which dissemination and implementation science can be leveraged to increase access to services, especially for under-resourced communities.
