Before joining CASTL, Hallie Parten served for four years as a middle school math teacher in Memphis, TN. She independently and collaboratively led classrooms across 5th through 8th grade. Her classroom culture always centered around a deep ethic of care and a strong commitment to rigorous, accessible, relatable, and joyful mathematics for all. Currently, her work includes supporting research projects related to preservice teacher education, with a focus on developing teachers’ math instructional practice. Parten resides in Memphis where she is also a local yoga teacher.
