Genevieve Matthew

Genevieve Matthew is a research specialist for the Virginia Kindergarten Readiness Program (VKRP) statewide initiative. Matthew specializes in developing and maintaining the mathematics assessments that are utilized across preK and kindergarten classrooms in Virginia, as well as developing additional pilot assessments.  
 
Matthew has been a part of the Virginia Kindergarten Readiness Program since its early beginnings in 2014. She has had the unique experience of working with nearly all aspects of the project, from teacher trainings, to user support and piloting with students, to program development and assessment development. She has had the pleasure of seeing the program grow and expand from its earliest pilot stages to an influential statewide initiative.  
 
Matthew has a passion for supporting children’s early development beyond just academic skills. She is a lifelong musician, and outside of her work with VKRP, she has worked with several initiatives to help students develop their social-emotional skills through music.
