Biography
Carlin Conner, Ph.D. is a senior research scientist at the Virginia Literacy Partnerships (VLP). At the VLP office, Conner works on several research grants related to literacy improvement, including efforts related to intervention and assessment for students at risk for reading difficulty. At VLP, Conner leads efforts to develop and pilot the new state-supported literacy screener, the Virginia Language and Literacy Screening System (VALLSS). Her research interests include literacy assessment and interventions, with a focus on supporting children who are culturally and linguistically diverse and children with disabilities. Conner has also spent time as both a special education teacher and instructional coach.
