Stephanie Tatel

Stephanie Tatel, Ph.D., is a Postdoctoral Research Associate. She teaches in both the teacher preparation and reading education programs in the Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Special Education at UVA. At VLP, Stephanie supports the development and implementation of the Spanish screener, VALLSS: Español, and leads research on the implementation of evidence based literacy practices, particularly for multilingual learners. Before completing her Ph.D. at UVA, Stephanie served for 24 years as a middle school classroom teacher, elementary reading specialist, instructional coach, and PK-12 division literacy coordinator.
