Katharine Malhotra's research leverages both quantitative and mixed methods to examine issues of equity in preK-12 education policies and programs, with a particular eye toward impacts on historically underserved student populations. Her recent work has examined the causal impact of inclusion policies on the academic outcomes of students with disabilities.
Previously, Malhotra worked as a federal policy analyst with the U.S. Senate Education Committee and the U.S. Department of Education. Her career in education began as a special education teacher in New Orleans.
