Biography

Catherine (she/her) is a third-year from Fairfax, VA.

What is your favorite EHD class?

EDHS 4040 - Anatomy & Physiology of Speech & Hearing Mechanisms

What are your plans after graduation?

I plan on pursuing a master's in Speech Communication Disorders, then working as a pediatric speech therapist for children with disabilities in either a private practice or school.

What activities are you involved in at UVA?

I am currently the Event Coordinator of the Best Buddies club and the Vice President of the National Speech, Sound, Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA) club. I am also a member of Club Swim, Alpha Delta Pi sorority, and DEAFs.

Why EHD?

I chose EHD because it is an amazing place to learn. The professors are awesome and the class sizes are small, making the learning environment interactive. It is easy to make friends, collaborate with people from a variety of backgrounds, and get one-on-one attention from the experts. Everyone in the program is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of others, including adults, children, and those with disabilities. It is overall a very uplifting place to learn.
