Ashok Sivasailam

Ashok Sivasailam is a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Virginia, working with Professor Brian A. Irving. His research focuses on mitochondrial biology, skeletal muscle bioenergetics, and metabolic health.

In his current role, Sivasailam investigates mitochondrial function and cellular metabolism using high-resolution respirometry. His work focuses on understanding mitochondrial adaptations under physiological and pathological conditions and developing reliable methods to assess mitochondrial function.
