What are your plans after graduation?
Pursue an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction before working in my own elementary classroom
What activities are you involved in at UVA?
I am the current president of TEC (Teacher Education Community) and am a leader in Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship. I also work in an afterschool program for prek-5th grade students at The Covenant School. Most of my free time is spent going to UVA sports games or going on drives along Blue Ridge Parkway with my friends!
Why EHD?
Education and Human Development, particularly when aimed at fostering growth in young minds and bodies, is essential to our nation's future. Here at UVA, this mission is embraced by both faculty and students, who are passionate about making a difference through research, education, and practice. Professors are not only invested in helping you grow and succeed as an intellectual, but are eager to know you as an individual. Even more impactful is the community I've found among other aspiring teachers, who consistently challenge me and inspire me to grow. I'm surrounded by servant-hearted students committed to learning and supporting one another with compassion, empathy, and integrity — characteristics that I hope to carry into my own classroom someday.
