Biography

Alan McLucas is a special education doctoral candidate from Daleville, VA. He taught in Charlottesville, VA as a special education teacher before moving with his wife to Zambia to collaborate with teachers working with students with intellectual disabilities and their families. McLucas' history working with autistic children and adolescents and volunteering with young adults in Charlottesville alerted him to the importance of the transition process for students with disabilities leaving school to enter into adulthood. This, and his current studies in ABA, have led him to pursue his research goals.
