Biography

Abigail Dougherty leads recruitment efforts for research studies examining the impact of literacy-focused educational interventions. Dougherty builds and sustains strong relationships with district leaders, school administrators, and teachers to recruit and retain teacher participants. She also supports teacher participants in their efforts to implement interventions as part of research studies.

Prior to this role, Dougherty worked in the Department of Teaching and Learning for Virginia Beach City Public Schools, most recently as the PreK-12 Coordinator. She has led elementary literacy in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, having served as a reading specialist in both divisions also. Dougherty has supported school divisions across the nation in her work as a LETRS District Success Manager, leading professional learning implementations.
