Education

Sandra Stern joined the Foundation Board in 2003.

Stern is CEO of Stern Estate, a personal, confidential resource for high-net-worth individuals and their families. She was formerly managing director, Citicorp Global Wealth Management Multiple Residence and Farm Advisory Group.

She is the founder and a former director of the Halifax County Continuing Education Center, now known as the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center. In this rural area of the state, many families had never been able to attend college. Her efforts created opportunities for the first time for many students in southern Virginia to pursue higher education.

Stern has also served as director of instruction for the Halifax County School System in Virginia and director of executive education in the Darden School of Business. She currently sits on the board of directors of the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation and on the UVA capital campaign’s National Committee on University Resources.

She resides in Englewood, New Jersey.
