Biography

Kate Kogge is the Director of Learning at the University of Virginia’s Innovation Hub at Charlottesville Middle School, a lab school designed to bring computationally-rich, project-based learning to every student in the division. She facilitates professional learning for the Innovation Hub Teacher Fellows and partners with educators to design computationally-rich, project-based learning experiences that connect classrooms with their communities.

Before joining UVA, Kogge led national STEM education initiatives with the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), where she designed professional learning experiences for educators across the country. A former middle school science teacher and Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow, she has spent her career at the intersection of science, education, and innovation.

Kogge holds both an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and a B.S. in Integrated Science and Technology from James Madison University. She is committed to helping educators reimagine how schools prepare students to think critically, solve complex problems, and thrive in a rapidly changing world.
