Emma Pearson

After completing the UVA M.Ed. in reading education, Emma Pearson worked in elementary schools as a classroom teacher and reading specialist before returning to UVA to pursue her doctorate. She also has experience teaching undergraduate, graduate, and professional development courses in reading education. Pearson is interested in helping teachers understand the complex processes involved in learning to read so that they can successfully implement systematic reading instruction in their classrooms.
