Biography

Bangyan Li is a Ph.D. student in the special education program, advised by Professor LaRon Scott. Li's research focuses on teacher preparation, recruitment, and retention, with particular emphasis on the lived experiences and working conditions of minoritized and marginalized special education educators. Li is also interested in developing equitable and accessible educational technologies to support students with disabilities and those from underrepresented and historically marginalized communities. Prior to beginning her doctoral studies, Li was an elementary school teacher in public schools in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts, where she taught in both general education and inclusive classroom settings.
