Biography
Alexander Keevil is the Upper School Director at The New Community School, an independent, college-preparatory school in Richmond, Virginia for students with Dyslexia and related learning differences. In 2022, he completed a doctorate in education from Vanderbilt University in leadership and learning in organizations. His Capstone project focused on detracking math, and the impact on a student's self-concept. Alexander has been a teacher and administrator at public and private schools, boarding and day schools, and coeducational and single-sex schools. He attended the University of Virginia, where he earned his B.A. in drama, an M.T. in special education, and later received his education specialist degree in school administration. Alexander has been an active member of the University community for many years and takes pride in his family's support of the School of Education and Human Development, the treatment and research of Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases, and University Athletics.
