I am a Registered Dietitian and Fellow of The Obesity Society. My research focus is on dietary intake behavior and how diet/nutrition relate to health and learning outcomes, especially in preschoolers.

I've served the professional community for almost two decades in many roles, such as chair of the Food and Nutrition section of the American Public Health Association or the Nutrition Epidemiology section of The Obesity Society. I was highly involved with The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), am a member of the Research Integrity Subcommittee of the Commission on Research of the Academy for Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), and have served on editorial boards for the Journal of the International Society for Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (IJBNPA) and Nutrients, where I am managing two special issues.

Professor Kranz is accepting Ph.D. students for fall 2023.
