We provide individualized services for students, UVA faculty and staff, and members of the greater Charlottesville community for whom English is not their first language.
Accent modification goals work to improve communicative effectiveness and confidence through instruction and practice. The goal in accent modification training is to help the individual speak effectively so that speech is “listener friendly”. After a careful analysis of the individual’s speech patterns, a customized training program is designed by an ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist. We offer a limited number of 1:1 services each academic term.
