I am a licensed psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist. Prior to joining UVA, I worked as a school psychologist in a large suburban high school outside of Columbus, OH and worked in private practice providing therapy to children and families in the Columbus metropolitan area. I have spent the last 15 years working in schools and mental health clinics in various capacities including: special education teacher, coach, mental health consultant, behavioral consultant, and therapist. I am passionate about increasing the availability of high quality mental health services for students in school, particularly students who are already at-risk for mental health concerns. My research has focused on training and supervision of school-based mental health professionals, school-based mental health, and social justice in educational settings. Previously, I collaborated with two teachers to implement a school-based mindfulness program for high school students and created an advanced practicum field placement rotation for graduate students in school psychology to gain experience providing counseling to high school students.
