This full-day workshop explores the potential of data science and artificial intelligence in education research. Keynote lectures from Dr. Brian Wright (School of Data Science) and Dr. Benjamin Castleman (Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy / School of Education and Human Development) will highlight both the great promise and the potential challenges related to data science applications in education research. Participants will engage in interactive workshops about promising data science applications in education research and hear from a panel of UVA faculty and alumni showcasing novel applications across the field. The event offers both inspiration and critical reflection on the promise and pitfalls of data science in educational contexts. Join us for learning, collaboration, and community-building over discussion and a closing reception.

The workshop sessions will be 10:00 am – 5:00 pm with a break for lunch, and followed by a closing reception on the rooftop terrace.
