Conducting Social Policy Research in the Private Sector – a Day in the Life of a Member of the Abt Associates Team

November 1 at 11am
Holloway Hall

Dr. Michael Frye is a Senior Associate in the Social and Economic Policy Division at Abt Associates Inc.

Social policy research is not just the domain of universities and think tanks. Did you know that there are numerous private organizations conducting rigorous social policy research on education, workforce, health, housing, and countless other topics? These companies range in size from one person to several thousand across the globe. In this presentation, Dr. Michael Frye will talk about the research work that he does at Abt Associates. Abt is a large social policy research shop with a broad portfolio of domestic and international work based out of Washington DC and Cambridge MA. Michael will specifically talk about the education work that he does for the Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences on the What Works Clearinghouse. He will describe the projects that Abt works on, what a day in the life of an Abt researcher looks like, and what you can do to pursue opportunities at Abt, should you be interested.
