Tori White

Tori is a Kinesiology and Studio Art double major from Roanoke, Virginia.

My experience in the Ed School has been both enlightening and challenging. While I have spent the majority of my time in the school taking online classes, I have learned so much valuable information and forged bonds with professors and classmates that *almost* make up for missing out on in-person classes. That being said, I can't wait to resume in-person learning so that I can have the most immersive experience possible. I absolutely love the professors in the Ed School. Every Ed School professor I have had during my time at UVA has made my educational growth their priority!

On Grounds, I volunteer with Adopt-a-Grandparent, the LGBTQ+ center, and Hearts 4 Homeless. I'm also a member of Young Democratic Socialists and a first-generation college student.

In my free time, I love running (especially mountains/anything hilly or challenging!) and drawing/painting/any sort of art (I love to incorporate skulls/skeletons/anatomy in my work). I'm a big fan of taking naps that are way too long and listening to music/going to concerts (my favorite bands are My Chemical Romance, Pierce the Veil, Motionless in White, and Prince)!

As of now, I hope to pursue something arts-related after graduation. I would ultimately like to combine my interests in anatomy and art in some way, possibly either as a medical illustrator or art professor. I hope to use the anatomical knowledge I gained from my kinesiology degree to create the most accurate drawings possible. I am also considering going to graduate school to pursue a master's degree in Fine Arts.
