Bernadette Poerio has a history of focusing on student-driven success. Following her graduation from Catholic University in 2014, she worked as a third-grade teacher in Memphis, Tennessee with the education reform program Teach For America. Shortly after her time with Teach for America concluded, Bernadette attended University of Virginia's Curry School of Education to earn a Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs to work specifically with college students. For two years she worked at Piedmont Virginia Community College, first as an academic advisor and then as a career pathways coordinator, and she is ecstatic to return to Curry as both an alum and employee.
