Dr. R. Alan Leffers came to UVA following a 25-year career in student affairs and enrollment management at institutions in Massachusetts, New York, and Pennsylvania. His most recent administrative role was as Vice President for Enrollment, Retention & Student Affairs at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he served for ten years. He earned his doctorate in Higher Education at UVA and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Spanish Literature and Master’s of Education in Counseling Psychology from James Madison University. Dr. Leffers’s areas of expertise include higher education law, college student retention, strategic planning and higher education finance.
