Biography
Milan Harris is a bilingual researcher at the University of Virginia, focusing on youth development and cultural sensitivity with the CARES360 Project at Youth-Nex. Before this, Harris was the center director of Higher Achievement, an after school program that supports academic and socioemotional growth in middle school scholars. Harris holds a master's degree in Social Justice and Human Rights from Arizona State University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude after also graduating Summa Cum Laude from Howard University in 2019.
Harris served in the Peace Corps as a youth development volunteer in the Dominican Republic and, after returning to the United States, worked at the John Hopkins CTY program as a program assistant, as well as an intern at the PEN/Faulkner Foundation. Harris has extensive research experience, working at Arizona State University, the University of California-Davis, University of Maryland-College Park, and Howard University and has served as a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) fellow through Rutgers University.
