Karen Twomey

Karen Twomey is part of the Active Playful Learning (APL) project. As a coach, she supports elementary teachers with the implementation of APL practices in their classrooms. In this role, Twomey enables teachers to transform the science of learning into action in order to provide deeper and more joyful learning for students.

Before joining the University of Virginia, Twomey worked as a special education teacher in Virginia for 10 years.
