Biography
Italia Talley, a native of Petersburg, Virginia, is a former high school English teacher. Talley's research interests include Black teacher pedagogy, the impact of Black teacher practices on Black student success, and the relationship between Black teacher vernacular and Black student achievement. Talley is under the advisement of Professor Jonee Wilson and works with her teams on equitable math instruction.
