Biography

Candra Skrzypek earned her doctoral degree in social welfare from the University at Buffalo. As a former teacher, Skrzypek is committed to educational justice and promoting youth mental health and well-being. Her research centers on creating inclusive environments for all students, social emotional learning, and increasing the capacity of teachers to support youth well-being. Her doctoral research focused on teachers’ mental health literacy and identifying factors that affect teachers’ decision-making to refer youths to school mental health services. She is currently working on the Preventative Interventions: Collaborative Research on Engagement and Wellbeing (PIT-CREW) team on the Coping Power- Rural project.
