The UVA School of Education and Human Development is considered one of the leading education schools in the country, and many of our programs are ranked in the top 20 by U.S. News & World Report. Our evidence-based approach to developing leaders in the practice of education, health , and human services, is paired with rigorous and practical research. Our students work closely with faculty to discover innovative and proven-effective methods that address challenges in schools, clinics, and communities across Virginia, the nation and around the world.
We offer 21 areas of study, 3 undergraduate majors, 4 research centers, 16 research labs, partnerships with a number of other schools at the University of Virginia, and a host of community programs. We also provide degree and non-degree options at regional centers around the Commonwealth of Virginia and online.

There are many ways to experience the University of Virginia. Prospective students can attend an information session, sit in on a class or spend the night on Grounds. Alumni can take advantage of career services and participate in a range of events, including reunions. History enthusiasts can take historical tours offered through the University Guide Service (and at Monticello). Parents, prospective faculty and families can do all the above, plus enjoy walking tours and attend a variety of cultural events happening across Grounds.
